Mayco Test Tiles - Azurite (Part 2/9)

Hello there! In this post I'll be discussing the new stoneware glaze from Mayco called Azurite. Like Rainforest, this one is more on the satin side with a bit of a shimmery sheen to it. Its also a bit of a runner on its own, and obviously even more so with the fluxes. The cobalt is definitely overpowering in this glaze, but it breaks beautifully over textures and sharp edges.
Overall, this is a glaze I'll probably be going back to once in awhile for more sculptural works that have a lot of texture. It's quite glossy when paired with Coral, which I like a lot. I hope you've found this interesting, and thank you for reading this far!
